چکیده

Background Regadenoson (REG) is a commonly used vasodilator stress agent that causes an increase in sympathetic response with associated increase in myocardial contractility and ventricular function in addition to coronary vasodilation. This agent has demonstrated high accuracy to detect coronary stenosis during myocardial perfusion imaging, but global and regional LV functional changes immediately after a REG bolus have been less well investigated. This study was designed to report the LV functional changes during routine stress perfusion CMR.

Initial description of changes in wall motion parameters in normal subjects undergoing rest/regadenoson stress using a tagged MRI sequence

Background Changes in global and regional wall motion between rest and stress are important prognostic markers, uncommonly observed with vasodilator stress radionuclide myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI). Cardiac MRI (CMR) with tagging has the potential to more precisely quantify normal and abnormal ventricular wall motion responses. We herein report CMR findings in 5 very low-likelihood patien...

Towards reliable myocardial blood-oxygen-level-dependent (BOLD) CMR using late effects of regadenoson with simultaneous 13n-ammonia pet validation in a whole-body hybrid PET/MR system

Background BOLD CMR is a non-contrast approach for examining myocardial perfusion but despite major technical advancements to date, its reliability remains weak. A key reason for this is the unpredictable cardiac motion during stress, which can lead to pronounced artifacts that confound/ mask the true BOLD signal changes during hyperemia. Recently, regadenoson has become the vasodilator of choi...

Prognostic value of normal regadenoson stress perfusion cardiovascular magnetic resonance

BACKGROUND Regadenoson is a vasodilator stress agent that selectively activates the A2A receptor. Compared to adenosine, regadenoson is easier to administer and results in fewer side effects. Although extensively studied in patients undergoing nuclear perfusion imaging (MPI), its use for perfusion cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) is not well described. The aim of this study was to determ...

Effects of adenosine and regadenoson on hemodynamics measured using cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging

BACKGROUND Adenosine or regadenoson vasodilator stress cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) is an effective non-invasive strategy for evaluating symptomatic coronary artery disease. Vasodilator injection typically precedes ventricular functional sequences to efficiently reduce overall scanning times, though the effects of vasodilators on CMR-derived ventricular volumes and function are unkno...

Assessment of transient ischemic dilation with cardiac MRI

Background Transient ischemic dilation of the left ventricle may be suggestive of global myocardial ischemia on SPECT stress imaging. While SPECT stress/rest imaging relies on computation-adjusted volumetric data to calculate a stress/rest “TID ratio,” measured at 20 to 30 minutes after peak regadenoson stress, cardiac MRI (CMR) allows for the direct measurement of LV wall thickness and cavity ...
